INTRODUCTION
All firms contracted by The Wine Group, because they are employers, are
required to provide safe and healthy employment to their employees as
required by State Law.
Since the Wine Group is also an employer, we are responsible for providing
a safe and healthy employment to our employees, and contract work may
present potential hazards to our employees - so these situations will be
controlled.
Therefore, all outside contractors will not only provide safe and healthy
employment to their employees - but also must ensure that their operations
do not endanger The Wine Group's employees, other contractor's employees,
or potentially damage any buildings or property on the site.
To accomplish this end, all contractors will at a minimum follow The Wine
Group's Contractor Subcontractor Safety Requirements. Note that
requirements should not be considered all inclusive.
SAFETY OF THE WINE GROUP'S EMPLOYEES
It is of utmost importance that the safety of The Wine Group's employees is
ensured. To help accomplish this, areas where our employees could be
injured must be properly marked or if needed blocked off.
If a Wine Group employee(s) refuses to leave an area that the contractor /
subcontractor feels is unsafe to them, the project engineer must be notified
immediately - and work stopped until the individual(s) leave the area.
STOP - WORK PROCEDURES
The project engineer would normally issue the stop-work order. Only those
areas of the project immediately involved in a hazardous situation are to be
included in the stop-work order. The order -vyill be in effect until the
situation is resolved.
_ _ May 2000 ___ Page 1 of 6
