The persistent elevated volatile organic compounds from
MW #5 are a concern to PHS/EHD. It is recommended that
EPA SW-846 method 8240 be run on all the monitoring well
samples (MW #1 through MW #5) next quarter. It is felt
these results may help indicate the source and magnitude
of this problem.
2 . MW #4 lab results from September suggested an atypical
gasoline pattern for TPH/gasoline range which has been
confirmed by this latest Quarterly Report (150 parts per
billion (ppb) ) . Analyzing for volatile organic compounds
may also reveal the constituent being identified as a
"possible solvent peak. "
3 . Total depth on MW #1 is 60 feet and groundwater is at 55-
56 feet in the other wells, can you offer any possible
explanation for this anomaly?
If you have any questions contact Steven Schneider, REHS, of my
staff at (209) 468-3441.
Jogi Khanna .D. , M.P.H.
Health O 1 r
ie o a, REHS, Program Manager
nvironmental Health Division
LAC/SS:nr
c: CVRWQCB - Jim Maughan
Sierra Environmental Services
P.O.
