SIERRA
The project file shows instructions from Mr. Schneider to contact and schedule with
"Darlene"of Public Health for drilling/inspections after July 25, 1990. The Sunday drilling(wells
MW-4 and MW-5) was discussed with SJC personnel on July 27, 1990. Grout inspections for the
wells drilled Sunday, July 29 and Sunday, August 5, 1990 were performed by 'Ron" of the SJC
Public Health Department on Monday, July 30 and August 6, 1990.2
The project file also indicates that"Melanie"from Public Health visited the site on August
5, 1990 (Sunday). Melanie did not inquire or express concern about the exposed OVM samples
at the time of her visit.
We hope that this letter clarifies the concerns itemized in your letter of January 3, 1990.
SES will continue to notify San Joaquin County Public Health at least 48 hours in advance of all
field activities. In addition, SES personnel are available to discuss concerns or comments from
the SJC Public Health Department at any time.
Please contact us if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Sierra Enyirpri a Services
Chris J. amer
Senio oject Geologist
CJE:iy
Attachments: Standard Operating Procedures
cc: Mr. Jim Maugham, Central Valley RWQCB
Mr. Clint Rogers, Chevron USA
2 Mossman, Courtney, 1990, driller, Soils Exploration Services, personal communication to Chris Bramer, SES
geologist, August 6, 1990
