S E C O R <br /> Conceptual Site Model <br /> Chevron Service Station#9-6171 <br /> March 25, 2005 <br /> Page 29 <br /> 6.8 Lincoln Village Cleaners Inc. - 501 Lincoln Center <br /> This site Is currently occupied by the Village Cleaners This site has been operated as a <br /> dry cleaner since 1979 It is the second of three dry cleaners named as an SDCD in the <br /> Lincoln Properties Ltd Lawsuit In June 1988, five sod samples were collected near the <br /> floor drains that linked to the city sanitary sewer system and near the dry cleaning <br /> machines Three samples were collected at less than 1 foot depth and contained PCE <br /> concentrations of 220 mg/kg, 690 mg/kg, and 730 mg/kg Two samples were collected at <br /> depths between 2 and 3 feet bgs and contained PCE concentrations of 2 9 mg/kg and 8 4 <br /> mg/kg In September 1993, 24 soil samples were collected between 8 and 11 Inches bgs <br /> The samples contained concentrations of PCE ranging from 0 088 mg/kg to 1 5 mg/kg <br /> 6.9 Norge Cleaning Village -505 Lincoln Center <br /> This location operated as Norge Cleaning Village between 1959 and 1987, as reported in <br /> the EDR Radius Map Report (August 2004) Subsequent field Investigations conducted in <br /> December 2004 by SECOR show the present address of this location as 878 Lincoln <br /> Center Various retail stores within the LVSC currently occupy this site It is the third of <br /> three dry cleaners named as an SDCD In the Lincoln Properties Ltd lawsuit In October <br /> 1987, the cement floor slab was removed from the building to facilitate soil sampling An <br /> unidentified UST was located inside the former Norge facility underneath the floor slab <br /> Reportedly, the tank had been out of service for approximately 10 years prior to its removal <br /> It had been used for approximately 15 years before that In 1985, a sample of residual fluid <br /> was collected from inside the UST The fluid contained 24,000 µg/L of PCE and 130 gg/L <br /> of TCE The tank was then pumped dry, filled with cement, and abandoned in place In <br /> May 1988, an inclined boring was drilled beneath the abandoned UST and a soil sample <br /> was collected The analytical laboratory results of the soil sample, as reported by Levine- <br /> Fricke, contained no "hazardous substances" at the method detection limits <br /> In October 1987, seven soil samples were collected near the floor drains that linked to the <br /> city sewage system Four samples were collected less than 1 foot in depth below the <br /> former floor The concentrations of PCE were 140 ug/L, 660 µg/L, 9,400 µg/L, and 63,000 <br /> gg/L The remaining three samples were collected at a depth of 2 feet bgs The <br /> concentrations of PCE were 110 µg/L, 780 µg/L, and 2,200 µg/L In November 1987, four <br /> soil samples were collected Three of the samples were collected from less than 1 foot in <br /> depth The concentrations of PCE were 60 µg/L, 1,150 µg/L, and 2,810 gg/L The last <br /> sample collected, as reported by Levine-Fricke, was described as a "composite sample of <br /> the bedding" and contained no "hazardous substances" at the method detection limits <br /> N IFdeslProjectslChevronlRetadl#f9-61711Site Conceptual ModeI1FINAL_CS11 doc <br />
