Y
Site Assessment and Remediation Feasibility Work Plan
OLYMPIAN- Jimco Truck Plaza
22502 South Highway 99,Ripon, California
1.0. INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr. Rusty Firenze of Olympian Oil,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has
prepared this work plan for the advancement of two soil borings, installation of ground water
monitoring well, installation of one ground water recovery(extraction) well, ground water sample
collection and analysis and performance of a ground water aquifer pump test at 22502 South
Highway 99 in Ripon, California. Figure 1 shows the general location of the site. Figure 2 shows
details of the site and location of the UST facility.
This Work Plan has been prepared as required by the San Joaquin County Public Health Services -
Environmental Health Division(PHS-EHD)by letter dated 15 May 2001.This work plan is prepared
in accordance with California Regional Water Quality Control Board Central Valley Regional
(CRWQCB-CVR) guidelines for the investigation of underground storage tanks (UST) sites.
The purpose of the proposed work is to continue assessment of the lateral and vertical extent of
dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons in ground water, including methyl tertiary butyl ether(MTBE)
distribution and to assess aquifer response to ground water recovery and feasibility to reduce the
overall dissolved-hydrocarbon mass (MTBE).
Background information,including details of soil excavation and previous site assessment work was
presented in Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report, prepared by AGE, dated
13 December 1999.
2.0. PROCEDURES
The results of the initial soil and ground water assessment indicated that MTBE was present to a
depth of at least 30 feet below surface grade (bsg) in soil samples. Furthermore,MTBE has been
detected in ground water samples collected from three wells at the site.
This investigation will include of the following tasks:
• Permitting and pre-field work activities;
• Collection and analysis of soil samples and grab ground water samples;
• Installation of ground water monitoring and recovery wells;
• Collection and analysis of ground water samples;
• Performance of a ground water aquifer pump test; and
• Preparation of a report of findings.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
