18 June 2001
AGE-NC Project No.. 98=0433
Page 2of8 `-
Each of these tasks is described in greater detail below.
2.2. BORING ADVANCEMENT,SOIL SAMPLE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS
Initially,AGE proposes to`advance two soil probe borings in the vicinity of the former USTs to be
advanced to approximately 45 feet below surface grade (bsg). Proposed probe boring locations are
illustrated_in Figure 2. Soil samples will be collected from each boring at five-foot intervals, from
20 feet bsg to the total depth of the boring. Grab ground water samples will be collected at 35 and
45 feet bsg. The soil boring may be advanced to greater depths if.field observations indicate
contamination.
Field procedures for advancement of borings, collection and analysis of soil samples are presented
in Sections 3.1.
Selected soil samples will be analyzed by a State,of California Department of Health. Services
(DHS)-certified laboratory for:
• Total petroleum as diesel (TPH-d) ,total petroleum is gasoline'(TPH-g) in accordance with
EPA Method 8015 Modified;
• Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX) and methyl tertiary-butyl ether
(MTBE) in accordance with EPA Method 8020;
• Oxygenated compounds: di-isopropyl ether(DIPE),ethyl tertiary-butyl ether(ETBE),methyl
tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE),.tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME), tertiary butanol (TBA),
methanol, ethanol, ethylene dibromide (EDB) and 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) in
accordance with EPA Method 8260 Modified:
Laboratory reports for soil analyses, testing methods, laboratory.quality assurance/quality control
(QA/QC) reports, and sample chain-of-custody documentation will be presented in a report with
findings and recommendations:
2.3. MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION AND SAMPLING
Two additional ground water monitoring wells will be installed at the site. One of the wells will be
installed to determine the lateral extent of impacted ground water and one well will be installed near
well MW-1 for the recovery(extraction) of impacted ground water.
Advanced GeoEnviron mental,Inc.
