06 November 2002
AGE-NC Project No 98-0432
Page 4of8
' Prior to initiation of the test, the depth-to-ground water was measured in extraction well EW-1 and
in the monitoring wells using a Solmst water level meter After depth measurements, 7/8-inch
diameter, model 3001 Solmst Levelogger pressure transducers were deployed in wells EW-1,MW-1,
' MW-3 and MW-9 Each pressure transducer was pre-programed prior to the pumping test to log
water levels at one-minute intervals
3 2 EXTRACTED WATER SAMPLING PROCEDURES
' During the pumping test, three grab ground water samples were collected prior to discharge into the
4,000-gallon tanks, the three samples were collected at 4 15 pm (sample 06-12-02), 11 15am
(sample 06-13-02) and at the termination of the test at 11 15 am (sample 06-14-02) The samples
' were collected in three 40-m1 EPA-approved volatile organic analysis(VOA)vials containing 0 5 ml
18% hydrochloric acid as a sample preservative and one 1-liter amber bottle Following sample
collection, each preserved sample was properly labeled, logged on a chain-of-custody form, placed
' in a chilled container and transported to a California Department of Health Services(DHS)-certified
laboratory for analysis for
- TPH-g and TPH-d by EPA Method 8015 Modified,
BTEX and MTBE by EPA Method 8021 and
- Fuel additive compounds DIPE,ETBE,MTBE, TAME, TBA,methanol, ethanol, EDB and
1,2-DCA in accordance with EPA Method 8260 Modified
I
33 EXTRACTED GROUND WATER DISPOSAL
' On 13 and 14 June 2002 the ground water extracted during the pumping tests was pumped from the
' aboveground storage tank into a vacuum truck(supplied by American Valley Waste Oil),the purged
water was transported off-site under non-hazardous waste manifest to Central Valley Water
Recovery Co Inc , a waste treatment facility located in Riverbank, California Documentation and
' uniform hazardous waste manifest for disposal of the pump test purged water is contained in
Appendix F
' 4.0. FINDINGS
The subsurface soil profile, ground water aquifer characteristics and aquifer response underlying the
site was characterized from field data Contaminant impact to soil and ground water samples was
assessed by laboratory analysis
Advanced GeoEnviron mental,Inc
