Lancaster OCT 2 Q 1992 State of California Environmental Protection Agency ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH Department of Toxics Substances Control PERM ITisovicEs Region 1 - 10151 Croydon Way, Suite 3 Sacramento, CA 95827-2106 Dear Ms. Lancaster: Report on corrections of violations found on August 5 and 6, 1992. Reference your letter dated September 22, 1992, the following corrective actions were taken by the Sharpe Facility Environmental Protection Office for compliance with your directive. Violation I.1, Section 66262.34(f) (2) : The containers of three (3) 55-gallon drums of used oil and one (1) 5-gallon pail of waste sodium sulfite were marked with the appropriate accumulation start date. However, the start of accumulation date was transposed to the label during Mr. Posner's inspection. Violation I.2, Section 66262.23(a) (1) : Manifest document numbers (block 1-5 digits). have been assigned to numbers 89806136 and 90490031 (Enclosures 1 and 2) . These numbers are assigned by choice of the generator. The remaining manifests for the last 3 year period have been reviewed with no additional violations found. Violation I.3, Section 66264.34(f) (1) (2) (3) : The above section reference does not apply to labeling, however, the yellow hazardous waste label damaged during handling at building 403 on the one (1) 55-gallon drum of waste solvent.- and oil was replaced by our hazardous waste facility manager on August 6, 1992, after Mr. Posner' s departure. The employees and their supervisor have been instructed by this office to notify the waste manager by telephone of any and all damaged labels which will be replaced prior to the end of the work shift.
