At your direction this date, I have made the following
alterations to the previously approved work plan:
1) A boring will be drilled on the Barbot property at 3851 Newton Road near the
Gillies/Barbot property line, and a hydropunch will be used to collect a groundwater sample, which will
be analyzed by the mobile laboratory. If contamination is detected, the boring will be backfilled and a
second boring will be drilled farther south near the center of the Barbot property and completed as a
groundwater monitoring well. If no contamination is detected in the first boring, it will be completed as
a monitoring well and a second boring will not be drilled.
2) As reqeusted by Mrs. Barbot, a water sample will be collected from her domestic well and
will be analyzed for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as gasoline,BTEX, and MTBE.
3)Representative soil samples will be selected from those collected during this phase of drilling
and will be analyzed for permeability, density, and other parameters as needed to facilitate the
completion of a risk assessment analysis for this site. Additionaly, two samples will be analyzed for the
presence of natu;ally occuring hydrocarbon-consuming bacteria and soil nutrients to assess the
potential for natural attenuation/biodegradation of the hydrocarbons.
Sincerely,
Victor B.
