• In previous quarterly reports, we recommended conducting an aquifer pumping test of GT-10 to
obtain data on the groundwater flow rate and to test the feasibility of groundwater extraction as a
potential remediation method A work plan based on computer simulations of a pumping test under
various scenarios was submitted in May to San Joaquin County PHS/EHD, but PHS/EHD has not
commented on this work plan The water level has now dropped almost to the base of the Modesto
aquifer in the proposed pumping well and an aquifer test is not feasible at this time The test will
not be feasible until the static water level begins to rise again during the first quarter of 2001
We recommend monitoring the site again in early September Because the present groundwater
flow direction is to the southeast, the domestic water well on the Barbot property should be sampled
at that time if possible That well has not been sampled since the middle of 1999
•
4
