(PES) has prepared this letter at the request of the Reclamation
District No. 2042 - Bishop Tract (RD) to document the request from the California Regional
Water Quality Control Board - Central Valley Region (RWQCB) to define lithology greater
than 25 feet below ground surface (bgs) during the upcoming investigation at the Paradise Point
Marina in Stockton, California (the site or subject property, Plate 1). After review of PES's
Work Plan Addendum for Soil and Groundwater Investigation, dated November 4, 2016,
RWQCB staff provided comments and made the request in the letter, Review of Subsurface
Investigation Report and Work Plan Addendum for Additional Investigation, Paradise Point
Marina, 8095 Rio Blanco Road, Stockton, San Joaquin County, Geotracker Global ID
#10000007741, dated January 9, 2017 (copy attached). Specifically, CRWQCB requested that
site lithology greater than 25 feet bgs be defined in order to assess potential threats to the onsite
supply and irrigation wells and to define the vertical extent of the plume. To comply with the
request, cone penetration test (CPT) borings will be advanced in the vicinity of the onsite
supply and irrigation wells to the reported total depth of each well. Two CPT borings will be
advanced to 55 feet bgs in the vicinity of Well No. 1 (the irrigation well) and two CPT borings
will be advanced to 75 feet bgs in the vicinity of Well No. 2 (the supply well). Well locations
are shown on Plate 2. Upon completion of each CPT boring, the borehole will be grouted to
the surface in accordance with San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
(SJCEHD) requirements.
7665 Redwood Blvd. • Suite 200 • Novato, California 94945 • Tel (415) 899-1600 • Fax(415)899-1601
