' REMEDIATION SYSTEM SUMMARY <br /> • <br />' In Situ Groundwater Extraction and Treatment System (UVB) <br />' System description. <br /> A vacuum vaporizer well system,known as UVB(Unterdruck Verdampfer Brannen),was capable of <br />' extracting groundwater from one well, UVB The UVB treatment system consisted of an in-situ, <br /> 400-millimeter-diameter reduced pressure air stripper and a 5-horsepower blower and included a <br /> weatherproof cover and moisture knockout drum The moisture knockout drum had a built-in <br /> stripping unit to treat any accumulated water prior to removal Vapors stripped from groundwater in <br /> the UVB air stripper were extracted by the UVB vacuum blower The pressure outlet of the UVB <br /> blower was connected to a Thermtech VAC 25 thermal/catalytic oxidizer,to destroy volatile organic <br />' compound vapors in a heated chamber prior to release into the ambient air <br /> System startup date, 6 February 1997 <br />' Active extraction wells, None <br /> Inactive extraction wells/reason- UVB (The system was shut down on 22 September 2000 as <br /> proposed during the 12 September 2000 meeting between San <br />' Joaquin County Public Health Services and ExxonMobil <br /> Refining and Supply Company) <br />' .
