I
' 8260B for confirmation The analytical results for the samples are presented in boldface type in
Table 1, along with previous data The laboratory analytical report and chain-of-custody
' documentation are included in Appendix B Groundwater sample analytical results are shown in
Figure 1
' 3. GROUNDWATER TREATMENT SYSTEM OPERATION
' A vacuum vaporizer well system, known as UVB (Unterdruck Verdampfer Brunnen), began
operating at the site on 6 February 1997 A description of the UVB system is included in an
' installation report issued in June 1997 The UVB system did not operate during the third quarter of
2001 The system was shut down on 22 September 2000 as proposed during the 12 September 2000
meeting between San Joaquin County Public Health Services and ExxonMobil Refining and Supply
' Company
Between 6 February 1997 and 22 September 2000, a total of 1,890 2 pounds of TPH-g was removed
' from the groundwater by the WB system based on laboratory analytical results, and 821 5 pounds
based on field measurements Figure 3 presents the pounds removed based on both lab and field data
over time The lower value of 821 5 pounds is viewed as more representative of the actual pounds
' removed by this remedial system as the field values are consistent and not dependent on a single
high value, as are the laboratory data
' . 4. WORK PROPOSED FOR NEXT QUARTER
Depths to water will be measured and groundwater samples will be collected in December 2001 The
samples will be analyzed for TPH-g, BTEX, and MTBE
I
(,'?I0jeCW73Q420,I%,I LRIWP Q)01'n Joc 2
