Box 990 <br /> Stockton, CA 95201 <br /> Subject: Report of Investigation - Soil Sampling at Roy's Towing <br /> 3570 East Miner Avenue, Stockton, California <br /> Transmittal of Report and Summary of Results <br /> Dear Ms. Brown: <br /> Enclosed is your copy of our Report of Investigation concerning the recent soil and septic tank <br /> sampling at the subject property. The investigative procedures and results as well as our <br /> conclusions and recommendations are briefly summarized below. A copy of the report has also <br /> been submitted to Mr. Doug Wilson with San Joaquin County Public Health <br /> Services/Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) for his review and comment. <br /> PURPOSE OF INVESTIGATION <br /> Ground Zero Analysis, Inc. ("GZA") was retained by the responsible party to conduct a soils <br /> quality evaluation at the subject property. The purpose of the work was to investigate the <br /> property for the presence of contamination, Per GZA's approved Workplan, sampling focused <br /> on areas of contamination identified during previous investigations; the sump and septic tank <br /> beneath the building and the leach lines and pit south of the building and; random sampling in <br /> areas of the property previously uninvestigated. <br /> SAMPLING METHODS <br /> During the week of February 24, 1997, GZA personnel collected 23 soil samples at various <br /> locations on the property. The locations of the sampling points were approved by PHS/EHD. <br /> Sampling was conducted under the supervision of PHS/EHD personnel. <br /> Backhoe trenches and hand auger borings were used to collect soil samples from the depths of <br /> 1 foot and 5 feet at most locations.
