Soil Excavation And Disposal Report
FORMER ROY'S TOWING
3570 East Miner Avenue, Stockton,California
1.0. INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr. Juan Barajas of Aliso Trailer Manufacturing, Inc., Advanced
GeoEnvironmental,Inc(AGE)has prepared this report documenting the excavation and disposal of
hydrocarbon-and heavy metal-impacted soil from a former towing and storage yard for automobiles
at 3570 East Miner Avenue,Stockton,California(site). The site and surrounding area are illustrated
on Figure 1; structures, historical borings and historical sampling points are illustrated on Figure 2.
The report has been prepared as required by San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
(EHD) in their work plan approval letter dated 05 October 2007 (Appendix A).
2.0. EXCAVATION ACTIVITIES
The work was performed in accordance with the AGE-prepared Interim Soil Remediation and
Sampling Work Plan dated 30 August 2007.The activities included pre-field work, soil excavation,
soil sampling, and soil disposal. The proposed excavation areas are depicted in Figure 3.
2.1. PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITY
Prior to excavation activity, the site was marked and a utility clearance obtained through the
Underground Service Alert-North(USA-North).
2.2. EXCAVATION ACTIVITIES
Based upon analytical results of soil samples collected during a previous investigation in the first
quarter of 1997,which reported high concentrations of both hydrocarbons and lead, the soil within
three small areas of approximately 16 square feet (AA, BB and CC) within the northeast and J
southeast excavation area were removed and stockpiled separately.Soil removed from areas AA,BB
and CC were transported under manifest and disposed at Kettleman Hills Hazardous Waste Facility
(Class I)in Kettleman City,California. All other excavated soil was transported under manifest and
disposed at Forward Landfill (Class II) in Stockton, California.
On 06 December 2007, two areas were excavated to depths of two feet below surface grade (bsg)
the areas were located at the northeast corner of the side(northeast excavation-Former Area I)and
southeast corner of the on-site building(southeast excavation-former Area II).Laboratory analysis
of the samples collected from the west wall of the northeast excavation reported soluble lead impact.
EHD required additional soil removal; the northeast excavation area was extended approximately
two feet further west on 01 February 2008.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
