White residue and evidence of corrosion were noted around the rim of one forklift battery located in the covered outdoor forklift charging area. Concrete etching was also noted in this area. Facilities shall be maintained and operated to minimize the possibility of a fire, explosion, or release of hazardous waste to air, soil, or surface water which could threaten human health or the environment. Immediately fix all leaks, and manage all generated wastes according to Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining how this waste was managed. This is a minor violation. 303 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Failed to maintain all communication or alarm systems, spill control, or decontamination equipment. 1)White residue and evidence of corrosion were noted around the rim of one forklift battery located in the outdoor forklift charging area. No dedicated battery spill kit was located in the battery charging area. 2) Dark oily liquid was noted inside the secondary containment for the onsite waste oil tank and inside the spill pallet for various oil storage containers located inside the hazardous waste storage area. All facility communications or alarm systems, fire protection equipment, spill control equipment, and decontamination equipment, where required, shall be tested and maintained as necessary to assure its proper operation in time of emergency.
