All hazardous waste containers shall be <br /> closed at all times except when adding or removing waste. Immediately close these containers and ensure all <br /> hazardous waste containers are closed when not adding or removing waste. This was corrected on site. <br /> This is a repeat violation, Class II. <br /> 406 CCR 66261.7(f) Contaminated container not marked with date emptied or managed within one year of being emptied. <br /> One empty 55-gallon metal container with some oily residue was observed inside the hazardous waste storage area. <br /> Containers larger than five gallons that previously held a hazardous material shall be marked with the date they were <br /> emptied and managed within one year of being emptied. Immediately mark and manage all empty containers per this <br /> section. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 605 CCR 66262.34(f) Failed to completely label containers or tanks of hazardous waste. <br /> The following containers had incomplete hazardous waste labels: <br /> 1)Three 55-gallon containers labeled only as"waste oil'were noted inside the hazardous material storage area <br /> 2) One 55-gallon container of waste absorbent was lacking hazardous properties on its label (located in the hazardous <br /> waste storage area) <br /> 3) 5-gallon container of solvent and 5-gallon container of ink were lacking physical state and hazardous properties <br /> (located in the hazardous waste storage area) <br /> 4) One 5-gallon container of metal fines located in the mechanic shop area was lacking composition (contents) on its <br /> label. <br /> All hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following information: <br /> -the words "Hazardous Waste" <br /> - name and address of generator <br /> -hazardous properties <br /> -physical state <br /> -composition (contents) <br /> -accumulation start date <br /> All the containers with the exception of the three 55-gallon containers labeled as"waste oil'were labeled with all the <br /> required information. Immediately label these containers and ensure that all containers are marked with all the required <br /> information. Since it cannot be determined how long these"waste oil'containers have been onsite, immediately <br /> contact a licensed hazardous waste hauler to dispose of this waste under manifest and submit a copy of the manifest <br /> to the EHD. <br /> This is a repeat violation, Class II. <br /> Page 4 of 5 <br />
