From:09MI dela Tare To: Mary Ways Date:6126% TIme:1124t20 Page 3 of
Stockton Federal Building Tank Removal
On-Site Meeting
Project No.: RCA21521
Contract No.: GS09P94KTC000070
June 21, 1995
Page 2
1.09 Mary was concerned that.the use of pea gravel as a backfill material would contribute to the
migration of contamination. Abide indicated that the gravel was a temporary fill to avoid a safety
problem both to the building and the street. Eventually the fill would be removed and replaced
by engineered, compacted soil fill as part of the permanent remedial measures to be taken later.
1.10 Mary showed concern that a registered geologist was not on-site during excavation. Clemens
indicated they did not contract for one since they were not given a modification to include this
service in their contract.
1.11 Mary asked that the test.results under both tanks be submitted to her office with a.summary report
that included an analysis of the data and conclusions. A qualified firm must be used to generate
this report. Two weeks was assigned for this task and was due to her office by 7/5195. GSA will
contact Cape Environmental to arrange this. Abide will forward the test results to Cape as soon
as the results for tank 2 are submitted by Clemens. Kevin turned the test results for tank 1 over
to Darril.
1.12 GSA will also discuss with C e Environmental the need to have a phase two assessment work
plan done. Mary work plan detailing the exact procedures for conducting the
assessment b4X
4- scd he SvnMci{ecQ lob- g.t{. .5
1.13 Mary stated that her office is sensitive to the-.e sts for remediation efforts at this site. She
did not want to see costs rise to unrealistic or inappropriate levels on any reme iatiroject.
1.14 Mary responded to Ando's question about the length of time-she-" monitoring L,)aS
cenduc e ,
ahs s4u+ed fv .t Gt t11V1Y►kr✓1 cuc,f-(. w•pll^S ec.a tii-5 ate.e ie ,uc✓
The foregoing conveys our understanding of items discussed and decisions reached during this meeting.
We assume our understanding to be correct unless notice to the contrary is brought to our attention. y
Prepared: Abide International,Inc.
Signed:
Date: June 23, 1995
I
