Clayton j
ENVIRONMENTAL
CONSULTANTS
Mr. Robert Wooton Page I 1
Stockton Savings Bank Clayton Project No. 70448.00
August 30, 1996
The following environmental issues were identified during this assessment update but
were not deemed to be recognized environmental conditions (as defined by ASTM):
• A sump/catchbasin containing water is located in the former boiler room.
• No apparent changes in the suspect ACM observed during the original Phase I
assessment of the building were observed during this update.
• The asbestos-containing pipe insulation observed during the previous Clayton Phase I
Environmental Site Assessment was abated. Based on clearance air monitoring, it
appears that the abatements passed clearance. It appears that the plastic sheeting and
tape installed as part of the ACM abatement in the basement is coming loose.
• The lighting ballasts in the basement apparently contain PCBs. Based on the age of
the building, the ballasts in the rest of the building may contain PCBs.
If you have any questions or comments regarding this Phase I update, please contact
either of us at (510) 426-2600.
Sincerely,
`D.
