Clayton <br /> ENVIROUNENTAL <br /> CONSULTANTS <br /> Mr. Robert Wooton Page 6 <br /> Stockton Savings Bank Clayton Project No. 70448.00 <br /> August 30, 1996 <br /> Regulatory Agency File Review <br /> Clayton requested to review files at the offices of the San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Services (EHS) in Stockton, California, for following 10 sites <br /> identified in the VISTA report that could pose a threat to the subsurface quality at the <br /> subject property. <br /> Site Name Site Address <br /> Canlis Building 24 S. Center Street <br /> Chevron 139 S. Center Street <br /> Arco 205 N. Center Street <br /> Files for three of the sites, Canlis Building at 24 S. Hunter Street (approximately 50 feet <br /> west of the subject property), San Joaquin Office of Emergency Services at 222 E. <br /> Weber Street (approximately 150 feet northwest of the subject property), and Arco at. <br /> 205 N. Center Street (1,100 feet west of the subject property), were not available for <br /> review at EHS. The information obtained from Clayton's review of case files at the <br /> EHS offices on July 29, 1996, follows: <br /> Is Human Services Agency, 145 South Sutter Street <br /> This site is located approximately 270 feet southeast of the subject property and is <br /> listed in the LUST and UST/AST databases. Eight USTs were removed from this <br /> site in stages between April 1988 and August 1989. There are currently two 550- <br /> gallon USTs storing gasoline onsite. Soil samples were collected and analyzed <br /> following the removal of the eight USTs. Maximum concentrations of 2,300 <br /> milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg) total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-G), <br /> 176.5 mg/kg toluene, 98.2 mg/kg ethylbenzene, and 447.1 mg/kg xylenes were <br /> detected in the soil samples. Contaminated soil was excavated during the UST <br /> removal process. Nine monitoring wells have been installed at this site or in its <br /> vicinity. Maximum concentrations of 79,000 µg/L TPH-G, 7,000 ug/L benzene, <br /> 3,300 ug/L toluene, 3,800 µg/L ethylbenzene, and 11,000 µg/L xylenes have been <br /> detected in groundwater samples collected from the monitoring wells.
