(See Second quarter <br /> 2001 for findings). <br /> October 25, 2001 Well monitoring and Evacuation, Ground water samples <br /> collected. (See Third Quarter 2001 for findings). <br /> Between December 2001 and March 2002 three (3) ground water recovery <br /> wells a ground water treatment system and associated piping were installed <br /> March 25 2002 Installation of ground water extraction pumps. <br /> April 2002 Advanced Geological Engineering initiated a ground water treatment <br /> start-up period to test the efficiency of the ground water pump and treat system. <br /> April 2, 2002 Well monitoring and evacuation, water samples collected. Among <br /> other finding a high concentration of Benzene was detected in well MW1. (See <br /> finding/discussion First quarter 2002 report). <br /> August 12, 2002 continuing quarterly monitoring at the site, continuing operation <br /> and maintenance of the ground water extraction and treatment system. <br /> Between May 30 and August 2002 the interim ground water pump-and-treat was <br /> in continuous operation at a maximum flow rate of 12 gallons per minute <br /> September 9, 2002 ground water monitoring and sampling were performed <br /> (See November 2002 Advanced Geological Engineering for findings). <br /> February 16, 2003 The State Water Resources Control Board Mr. Dennis <br /> Parafett stated his office would deny the Appeal for Closure and that he did not <br /> support Closure <br /> February 27, 2003 Ground water treatment and monitoring continued. A total of <br /> 2,459,704 gallons of water was treated since ground water extraction began on <br /> April 02, 2002 <br /> April 21 thru 23 2003 Quarterly ground water monitoring and samples continued. <br /> October 31, 2003 Ground water treatment continued. A total of recovered <br /> Benzene mass of 6.69 and TPHg mass of 140 lbs. <br />
