iI v o_"hj w <br /> a <br /> 9 <br /> • A S S O C I A T E S I N C <br /> LABORATORY ANALYSIS <br /> Groundwater samples from the monitoring wells were placed on ice and transported under cham- <br /> of-custody protocol to Argon Laboratories (ELAP #2359) Groundwater samples from all wells <br /> were analyzed for TPHg and total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel (TPHd) by EPA method <br /> 8015 modified, BTEX and methyl tertiary butyl ether(MTBE) by EPA method 8020, and methyl <br /> tertiary butyl ether (MTBE), ethyl tertiary butyl ether (ETBE), d>-isopropyl ether (DIPE), tertiary <br /> butyl alcohol (TBA), tertiary amyl ether (TAME), dichloroethane (1,2-DCA), and dibromoethane <br /> (EDB) utilizing EPA method 8260 <br /> ANALYTICAL RESULTS <br /> The groundwater samples collected from wells MW 1 and MW2 contained the highest <br /> concentrations of TPHg, TPHd, and benzene Toluene, ethyl benzene, and xylenes were well <br /> below their respective maximum contaminant levels Wells MW3 through MW7 contained very <br /> low to non-detectable concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> Groundwater samples were analyzed for fuel oxygenates utilizing EPA Method 8260 and none <br /> were detected, indicating the previously reported MTBE concentrations were most likely false <br /> positives due to chromatogram interference <br /> Analytical results for groundwater are summarized in Table 2 Laboratory data sheets and chain <br /> of custody documentation are included as Attachment 2 � <br /> FREE PRODUCT REMOVAL <br /> Free product was been monitored and removed from MW2 on a monthly basis from the time a <br /> passive skimmer was installed in this well on June 27, 1997 until December 1999 Due to the <br /> minimal amount of free product being recovered (<0 5 liters per quarter) in comparison to the <br /> relatively large capacity of the skimmer's recovery reservoir (>2 liters), free product was <br /> removed only once during the reporting period, on May 16, 2001 During the Second quarter <br /> 2001, a total of 0 04 liters of product were removed <br /> To date a total of approximately 17 08 liters of product have been removed from the skimmer <br /> placed in MW2 A summary of product volume removed and previous product analytical data is <br /> presented in Table 3 Field notes associated with free product removal during the reporting <br /> period are included in Attachment 1 <br /> At the request of Mr Jeff Wong of PHS/EHD, ATC collected a sample of the free product The <br /> sample was submitted to Argon Laboratories for analysis of total extractable petroleum <br /> • hydrocarbons (fuel fingerprint) The sample was reported as TPHd at 480,000 parts per million <br /> 258031QUARTLY52QR-2001 AOC 3 <br />
