Freestanding liquids will be returned to a storage tank, wherever practicable. If released <br />material has not been effectively contained by existing systems, prevention of further <br />migration of the waste to soils or surface waters will be accomplished by using readily <br />available absorbent or other materials to divert, contain or absorb the release. <br />Absorbent materials used for clean-up will be transferred to appropriate containers. All <br />contaminated soil will be placed in containers for proper disposal. Contaminated <br />equipment and clothing will be cleaned and decontaminated, as necessary <br />3. Arrangements with emergency services authorities <br />The Emergency Coordinator has made the following arrangements: <br />Arrangements to familiarize police, fire departments, and emergency response teams with the <br />layout of the facility, properties of waste handled at the facility and associated hazards, <br />places where the facility personnel would normally be working, entrances to facility and <br />evacuations routes. <br />Agreements with State emergency response agency, local emergency response agencies and <br />emergency response contractor. <br />Familiarization of local hospitals with the properties of hazardous waste handled at the facility and <br />the types of injuries or illnesses that could result from fires, explosions or releases at the <br />facility. <br />The Emergency Coordinator has documented these arrangements to the extent this is possible. Copies <br />of the Emergency Response Agreement, which the agencies and organizations have signed, is included <br />in Appendix EP -1. The facility will maintain copies with these agencies and document their visits to the <br />facility. <br />4.
