SPILL RESPONSE AND PROCEDURES <br />-� Initial Response <br />DO NOT enter a hazardous area without proper personal equipment- respirator, gloves, rubber boots, <br />tyveks and safety eye ware. <br />Stop waste flow by shutting off pumps and equipment, if this can be safety done. <br />Stop all loading and transfer activity to isolate affected area. <br />E* Notification and Procedures <br />Notify Emergency Coordinator and other facility personnel <br />Contain spill as much as possible while attempting to stop spill. <br />Use absorbents to form containment barriers. <br />Position drum to minimize release of material. <br />-� Sustained Response <br />If there is a need for outside emergency assistance, the Emergency Coordinator will contact the <br />appropriate company or agency. <br />Pump free liquids into tank, container, or vehicle. <br />Collect all contaminated absorbent for disposal <br />Emergency Termination <br />m* Begin equipment and area cleanup. <br />Complete written description of event while details are still fresh in your mind. <br />Revised 3/1/2013 10 <br />
