4 1 r 04 Febru'ary 2000 AGE-NC Project No 99-0647 ' Page 3 of 4 ' 32 LABORATORY RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES Petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in the ground water sample collected from monitoring well ' MW-1, located within the former UST excavation TPH-g was detected at concentrations as high as 970 micrograms per liter (,ug/l) Xylenes were detected at concentrations as high as 17 Mg/1 No other volatile aromatic compounds were detected above the reporting limit in sample MW-1-11- ' 15-99 MTBE was detected in monitoring well MW-1 at a concentration as high as 38 ug/l Analytical results of the ground water sample for the November 1999 monitoring event are ' summarized on Tables 2 and 3 The laboratory report (MAI Laboratory ID 25629), QA/QC and chain-of-custody are included in Appendix B i 4.0. SUMMARY/CONCLUSIONS ' The following conclusions were drawn from the results of the site investigation and data collected from adjacent sites li • Ground water elevation at the site increased approximately 0 29 feet since the 23 September 1999 monitoring event ' The inferred ground water gradient on 23 September 1999 was calculated to be 0 002 ft/ft toward the northeast Additional monitoring wells located at an adjacent site (3535 East ' Cherokee Road - Cherokee Truck Stop)were utilized to construct the ground water gradient map ' TPH-g was detected in the ground water sample from monitoring well MW-1 at a concentration of 970µg/1 • MTBE was detected at a concentration of 38 yg/l in ground water sample MW-1-11-15-99 ' analyzed by EPA Method 8020 at 37 µg11 by EPA Method 8260M • Xylenes were detected in the water sample collected from MW-1 at a concentration of 17 'ug/l 5.0.
