' Closure Summary Report <br /> • MOORE TRUCK LINES <br />' 3400 Newton Road, Stockton, California, <br />' 1.0. INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Mr Eric Wei lburg, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this <br />' Closure Summary Report (CSR) for Moore Truck Lines (site) located at 3400 Newton Road, <br /> Stockton, California (Figure 1) This report, 1) documents procedures and results for cone <br /> penetrometer testing (CPT) conducted at the site in April 2004 and 2) summarizes assessment <br /> activities to date,and provides rationale to justify site closure The work included collection of <br /> ground water and soil samples from one soil boring to assess the impact of petroleum hydrocarbons <br />' and fuel oxygenating compounds on ground water beneath the site The objective of this <br /> investigation was to characterize and assess the vertical and horizontal extent of dissolved petroleum ' <br /> hydrocarbons and to characterize the geologic and hydrogeologic framework underlying the site <br />' This report is prepared in accordance with guidelines established in Appendix A and Appendix B to <br /> Tri-Regional Recommendations -Reporting, dated 16 April 2004, prepared by the Central Valley <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) for the investigation of UST sites <br /> • 20. BACKGROUND <br /> The site is presently operated as a short-haul trucking and truck repair facility with an office,loading <br /> dock and distribution center on the property (Figure 2) Four USTs were in use at the site for <br /> approximately 37 years Below is presented a summary of site background information including <br /> setting, ground water depth, flow direction, well surveys, tank removal and site assessment <br /> 21 REGIONAL,GEOLOGIC/HYDROGEOLOGIC SETTING <br /> The site is located in an area of low topographic relief According to Geologic Map of California, <br /> published in 1966 by the California Department of Conservation Division of Mines and Geology, <br /> the site area is shown to be within the Great Valley Geomorphic Province (GVGP) of California, a <br /> large, elongate, northwest trending structural trough The GVGP is subdivided into two major <br /> divisions designated the Sacramento and San Joaquin Valleys,which have been filled to the present <br />' elevation with thick sequences of sediment ranging in age from Jurassic to Recent, creating a nearly <br /> flat-lying alluvial plain extending from the Tehachapi Mountains in the south to the Klamath <br /> Mountains in the north The Western and eastern boundaries of this province are comprised of the <br /> California Coast Range and the Sierra Nevada, respectively <br /> The Modesto, Riverbank and Turlock Lake Formations and overlying recent alluvium are the <br /> principal source of domestic ground water in the 13,500 square-mile San Joaquin Valley Ground <br /> Water Basin (Basin 5-22) This basin ;s drained primarily by the San Joaquin River <br /> Advanced GeOEnvironmental,Inc <br />
