The average cost of cleaning up a
roadside spill is $10,000. Ryder's average cost for
cleaning up roadside vehicle spills is about $7,220.
That cost can be more or it can be less depending on:
• where the spill occurred;
• how much was spilled and where spilled —
soil, water, concrete;
• what was spilled — gas, diesel, oil;
• weather conditions at the time of the release
— rain, snow, heavy traffic, or protected
areas, and most important;
• how the spill was managed.
The bottom line is that knowing what to do and doing
it well will keep your clean-up costs down. So train-
ing all employees on these procedures is the first step.
To Find:
I Refer To or Contact:
Details on how to order Ryder
Ryder Purchasing Directory
Vehicle Spill Kits.
#SE88-5.14
Assistance on specific spill-
•XLSpeciafyClaims Administrators
related issues.
(formerly ECS Claims
Administrators) Spill
Management Company.
• Ryder Environmental
Services Group.
Driver safety measures to
Ryder Safety Manager
prevent the likelihood of a
spill or a ruptured fuel tank
from occurring.
Additional information on
Breg International at
Vehicle Spill Kit Supplies.
800-433-1013.
W
