We have found the plan to be adequate provided the following <br />considerations are addressed. <br />1: Page 2: The installation of groundwater monitoring wells is recommended <br />by this agency and the wells shall be constructed to document site specific <br />gradient. This isgenerally accomplished with a minimum of 3 wells; however, your <br />consultant may submit justification for our review should this approach be varied. <br />If significant contamination is encountered and additional borings are desired, <br />review must also be accomplished with San Joaquin Local Health District and may <br />require additional permit and/or inspection fees. <br />2: Page 3: Clarify in writing how sample screening for "the presence of <br />contamination odor" is documented during field activities. <br />3: Page 4: Soil samples shall be analyzed for Total Extractable Hydrocarbons <br />as well as Total Volatile Hydrocarbons. <br />These issues should be addressed in a revised sampling plan which must be submitted <br />to this office for approval prior to initiating the work plan. <br />It should be noted that additional sampling may be necessary should the results of <br />the sampling effort not adequately define the extent of contamination. <br />In addition, pursuant to the San Joaquin Local Health District fee schedule <br />Resolution No. 85-58, a $35.00 consultation fee shall be submitted along with the <br />completed general Environmental Health application fort- for review of the above <br />referenced environmental assessment/remediation activity. <br />Each additional hour over the initial one hour of time spent in review activity <br />will be billed at the rate of $35.00 per hour. The additional amount due will be <br />billed to the applicant identified on the general Environmental Health application <br />form at the completion of requested activity, or monthly, if longer than 30 days is <br />
