•
• Printer Interface Module. Required for interface
between the CPU board and integral printer.
• Remote Display Interface Module. Required for
interface to a Veeder-Root Remote Display.
• Remote Printer Interface Module. Provides a 25 -
pin male D -connector for data transmission to a
remote serial printer.
• SiteFax Fax/Modem Module. A 2400 -baud inter-
nal modem and a 9600 -baud facsimile with twin
snap -in j acks for direct data transmission over phone
lines.
B. PROBES.
The TLS -350 can accommodate Veeder-Root capacitance
and magnetostrictive probes. The installation and wiring
procedures for these probes are described in this manual.
C. SENSORS.
A TLS -350 system can incorporate sensors that detect
liquids in interstitial spaces of double-wall tanks and piping
sumps of double-wall piping, detect hydrocarbon liquids
and vapors in monitoring wells, and detect liquids and
hydrocarbons in dispenser pans and containment sumps.
Interstitial, piping sump and hydrostatic sensors are two -
wire devices; while vapor and groundwater sensors, and
containment sump and the dispenser pan sensors are
three -wire devices. The installation and wiring proce-
dures for these sensors are described in this manual.
D. LINE LEAK DETECTORS.
The TLS -350 system can include up to eight line leak
detectors monitoring one line per detector, and each
detector requires one Line Leak Detector Module in-
stalled in the monitor. Site preparation and installation
instructions for the Veeder-Root Line Leak Detector are
contained in Manual Number 576013-764.
E. REMOTE DISPLAY.
The TLS -350 system can interface to a Veeder-Root Re-
mote Display. Site preparation and installation instruc-
tions for the Remote Display are contained in Manual
Number 576013-811.
SECTION 3. SITE PREPARATION
JN WARNING: IN INSTALLATION OF THIS
PRODUCT, COMPLY WITH THE NATIONAL
ELECTRICAL CODE; FEDERAL, STATE AND
LOCAL CODES; AND OTHER APPLICABLE
SAFETY CODES.
Ift WARNING: TO PROTECT YOURSELF AND
if OTHERS FROM BEING STRUCK BY VE-
HICLES DURING WORK, BLOCK OFF YOUR
WORK AREA DURING INSTALLATION OR
SERVICE.
FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THESE WARN-
INGS COULD RESULT IN DEATH, SERIOUS
PERSONAL INJURY, PROPERTY LOSS, AND
EQUIPMENT DAMAGE.
Site Preparation anji&stallation InstructionsT
TLS-31WST Monitoring System
This section does not contain site preparation instructions
for a line leak detector. Since much of the site preparation
for a line leak detector will be performed concurrently
with the site preparation for the rest of the system, be sure
to consider its requirements at all times.
If installing line leak detectors with this system, be sure
to refer to Manual Number 576013-764 for site prepara-
tion and installation instructions.
A. PROBE RISER PIPE INSTALLATION.
(See Figure 4, "Capacitance Probe Installation Require-
ments," and Figure 5, "Magnetostrictive Probe Installa-
tion Requirements.")
IMPORTANT: For maximum height -to -volume accuracy,
select the threaded hole closest to the middle of the tank
and install a 4 -inch riser pipe (ANSI pipe, sch. 40).
Standard procedures for installing a fill pipe can be used.
Instructions are based on a 4 -inch riser pipe, however, the
capacitance probes will also fit a 3 -inch riser.
1. If the tank is buried, excavate the portion of the tank
that contains the riser hole.
2. Remove the bung from the hole and install the riser
pipe.
NOTE: The top of the riser pipe must be threaded to
accept a 4 x 8 NPT cap adaptor ring.
Figure 4.
