Training records on former employees shall be <br /> kept for at least three years from the date the employee last worked at the facility. Immediately provide employees with initial <br /> or refresher hazardous waste training. Within 30 days, provide this office with a copy of the roster and the syllabus which <br /> meet the requirements of 66265.16 CCR (California Code of Regulations). <br /> 78) Failed to store UW batteries in a closed container and in a manner to prevent releases to the environment. <br /> At time of inspection 2 AA alkaline batteries were seen on the ground in the parking lot near the diesel ASTs, 4 as batteries <br /> were seen in a 55 gallon drum that appeared to have once held orange paint, and 2 unknown size batteries were seen in the <br /> medical waste container in the grocery maintenance room. UW batteries must be stored in a closed container and in a <br /> manner that prevents breakage and releases to the environment. Immediately begin this storage practice. <br /> 83) Failed to label UW to identify type of waste: <br /> At time of inspection: <br /> UW lamps and Alkaline batteries were not labeled adequately. Universal containers must be labeled at a minimum, <br /> "Universal Waste"and the type of waste being stored. Immediately properly label containers of UW. <br /> 84) Stored UW on site for more than 1 year: <br /> At time of inspection: <br /> it could not be demonstrated how long all Universal Waste on site had been stored. UW on site includes Aerosol cans, <br /> Lamps, and Batteries. Universal Waste may only be stored on site for up to one year. Immediately have all Universal Waste <br /> removed and provide this office with a copy of the shipping record. <br /> Within 30 days, April 18, 2011 provide this office with a copy of the Return to Compliance Certification, <br /> with a statement addressing how each of the above listed violations have been corrected. Provide this <br /> office with any necessary and/or requested supporting documentation. <br /> Notes: <br /> This facility generated 77.228 tons of hazardous waste in 2009. <br /> The phone and address for county IDES in the contingency plan is incorrect <br /> At time of inspection it was not clear how the oil water separators and or"sumps"were plumbed or used. There is a <br /> discrepancy between the number of oil water separators employees have identified versus what was identified on the facility <br /> map.
