4.2 Groundwater Investigation
• Advance three of the borings 10 feet into first groundwater. Monitoring well locations
should be proposed in an addendum to this Workplan after review of quarterly
groundwater monitoring reports for the adjacent Tri-Valley Growers site (on file at the
SJLHD offices). The addendum shall be submitted and approved prior to site
mobilization
• Construct a monitoring well in each of the three deep borings.
• Develop, purge and sample the monitoring wells. Development and purge water will
be stored in 55-gallon drums at a location specified by the client.
• Submit three soil samples from each boring for laboratory analyses for TPH-G and
BTEX.
• Analyze three water samples for TPH-G and BTEX.
. Perform a survey to establish vertical and horizontal control for well-heads.
` 4.3 Site Investigation Report
L Prepare a report describing the findings, conclusions, and recommendations. The report will
be developed in accordance with requirements as outlined in Appendix A of the Tri-Regional
Board Staff Recommendations for Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation of Underground
Tank Sites.
5.0 ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY
Chemical analyses will be conducted by a State-certified Laboratory. Soil samples selected
for testing will be analyzed for TPH-G and BTEX. TPH-G analyses will be conducted using
EPA Method 8015 modified. BTEX analyses will be conducted according to EPA Methods
8020 (extraction by purge & trap method 5030) for soil. Detection limits for BTEX analysis
of soil will be 0.005 ppm. Detection limits for TPH-G analyses will be 1.0 ppm.
Groundwater samples will also be analyzed for TPH-G and BTEX. TPH-G analyses will be
conducted using EPA Method 8015 modified. BTEX analyses will be conducted according to
EPA Method 602.
6.0 HEALTH & SAFETY
Site Health and Safety should be addressed in detail in a Site Specific Health & Safety Plan
prepared for the project. The health and safety plan should be submitted to the SJLHD for
review prior to field activity.
-000-
World=-074ODM-Raised lune 1995 4
Associates
