Discussion and Conclusions samples collected during the July 19, 1999 final quarterly sampling round from all site wells The ' results of these analyses indicate that none of these analytes are present above normal reporting limits in site soil or groundwater(Tables 3 and 6, and ' Plate 8) In addition to the remaining data required for site ' closure that were collected during the SSI and itemized and presented above, the following additional items were specifically requested by 1 PHS/EHD in the closure report + Historical water level data would be included as a column within the historical groundwater analytical summary table These data are included in Table 1 • All soil analytical data presented in summary tables These data are summarized in Tables 2,3, and 5 for this investigation,and for previous work are presented in Appendix G ' • All boring logs Boring logs are presented in Appendix A for this investigation and in Appendix B for previous work • Summary of remedial actions implemented to date As discussed in the Background Section, a groundwater pump and treat system operated ' from May 1991 through June 1994 The system pumped groundwater from MW-4 continuously at low flow rates (1 8 to 2 liters per minute) TPHg and benzene concentrations levels were reduced from 2900 ug/L and 65 ug/L respectively,at system startup to 260 ug/L and I 1 ug/L prior to ' shutdown of the system In addition to the data presented above,the ' following two request were made by PHS/EHD + Repair the fracture in the top of the casing in ' well MW-I + Resurvey of all site wells by a licensed surveyor ' Because of the pending destruction of the monitoring wells that is required following the granting of no further action,HLA respectfully requests that the expense required to comply with these request should be avoided ' L 130000\387371WP138737N19 Harding Lawson Associates 22
