e3i11i94 09:58 N0.887 W7
Installation of the LD-2040
Before Installation:
1. Purge the system of any air. Start at the dispenser furtherest from thesubmersible pump
and work your way back toward the pump. The amount of product you will have to purge
depends upon the amount of air In the system and where the air is located. On a new system
start-up, it is always better to purge the system before setting the dispensers. The reason is
that you can get more volume through the line without the restriction of the dispenser and
the delivery nozzle. However, purging the system before setting the dispensers may not always
be possible.
2. Check the bleed-down pressure on the submersible pump. This check is to make sure that
an excessive amount of pressure is not maintained in the system with the LD-2000 installed.
This test is done before installation of the LD-2000 by simply installing the leak detector tester
in the test port of the impact valve. With the tester in the OFF position, turn on the
submersible pump. Make sure that the line pressure is at full flow or operation pressure. Turn
off the submersible pump and notice the pressure that is locked in the line.
3. Run a precision line test. Before replacing an existing leak detector, a precision line test
should be conducted to ensure line integrity. A line test should also be conducted when
installing a leak detector in the system for the first time. Not only will the line test tell you if
the line is leaking, but It will also tell you how much line resiliency is in the system. It will also
help do some system diagnostics.
To Install the LD-2000:
1. Shut off the power to the submersible pump at the breaker box,
2. Go to the submersible pump and remove the existing leak detector or 2-inch pipe plug in
the submersible pump or adaptor tee.
3. Make sure that the submersible pump or adaptor tee will accommodate the LD-2000. To do
this, make sure that there is enough room for the check valve on the bottom of the leak
detector. Also make sure the threads on the leak detector and the submersible pump are clean
and not damaged.
[blaming! The check valve on the bottom of the LD-2000 is very delicate. Handle it with care.
Do not use the check valve to pick up or handle the leak detector. Do not drop the leak
detector. Inspect leak detectors very carefully before Installing them in a system. Make sure
that there is no damage prior to installation. Damage incurred due to misuse or abuse will void
the warranty of the LD-2000.]
l:_J
