(Before screwing the leak <br /> detector into the submersible pump or adaptor tee, be sure to check for and remove any <br /> ti.k s,l <br /> casting remnants in the pump head leak detector port below the packer 0-ring. Leaving these <br /> metal fragments in place may result in severe damage to the LD-2000's check valve.] Tighten <br /> the leak detector down firmly with a wrench to make sure there is no leakoge. (Caution! Do not <br /> over-tighten leak detector. Over.tightening could cause undue stress on the submersible <br /> pump and/or leak detector threads.) <br /> S. Remove the dust cover from the 1/4-inch port on the cap of the leak detector. Apply <br /> thread sealant to the threads of the 900 compression fitting and install into the cap of the leak <br /> detector. Tighten firmly, but do not over-tighten. <br /> 6. Remove 1/4-inch pipe plug from the tank test port on the housing of the submersible <br /> pump. Install the straight compression fitting into this port. <br /> 7. Install the copper tube into the compression fittings on top of the leak detector and tank <br /> test port. Tighten fittings firmly, but do not over-tighten. <br /> 8. Go to the breaker box and turn on power to the submersible pump. <br /> 9. Go to the dispenser and turn on the submersible pump. Go back immediately to the <br /> submersible pump and check for leaks. Repair leaks, if any. <br /> 10. Test the leak detector in the system, using proper test methods. <br /> =" [Note: Vapodess Manufacturing, Inc, strongly recommends that you perform this <br /> test twice to assure that the installation has been made properly!] <br /> 11. Check bleed-down pressure on the submersible pump. <br /> ' A "UL Class;fied" (QLSR) pipe joint sealing compound for use with petroleum products is to <br /> be used when installing the leak detector into the pump. <br /> Recommended Maximum Number of Nozzles <br /> 1/3 h.p. pumps ...... 3 nozzles <br /> 3/4 h.p. pumps ......
