PHS/EHD has the following comments for your consideration.
The report included the results of soil samples collected during the April 27, 1994 and April 28, 1994
drilling of MWl - MW3,B4, B6, B7 and B8 and groundwater samples collected on May 6, 1994.
Groundwater and soil contamination were evidenced.
The report included a recommendation to install additional groundwater monitoring wells to define the
extent of groundwater contamination. PHS/EHD concurs that additional wells will be necessary,
additionally, further soil investigation will be necessary to define the extent of soil contamination.
Quarterly monitoring of the existing wells should be scheduled by August 8, 1994. A work plan should be
submitted by September 19, 1994 with the resultant quarterly report which includes a proposal to further
investigate the extent of soil and groundwater contamination.
Please include dates of analysis on tables summarizing analytical data as well as the detection/reporting
limits for historical reference.
If you have any questions, please contact Mary Meays at (209) 468-0337.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Mary Meays, Senior REHS Diane M.
