i I INTERIIII WORK PLAN FOR MONITORING WELL INSTAL ATION Ripon Farm Service 22871 South Highway 99 Ripon, California ' February 1995 1.0 INTRODUCTION In accordance with a request from Mr. Bruce McCandless of Ripon Farm Service, Geological Audit Services, Inc. (GeoAudit) has prepared this iInterim Work Plan for the drilling and installation of additional borings and monitoring wells at 22871 South Highway 99 in Ripon, California (the site). The location of the siteis illustrated on Figure 1. A pian of the site is illustrated on Figure 2. 2.0 BACKGROUND j I 2.1 Site Location The site is located in a flat industrial area in northern i�Ripo east of Jack Tone Road (Figure 1). The site is operated by Ripon Farm Service (RFS). An automotive shop is located near the northeast corner of the site; an office buildinpland truck scale are located at the southern corner. The surface of the remainder of the (site is covered with gravel. Jimco Truck Stop is located immediately north of the site. 2.2 Underground Storage Tank Removal - I It is our understanding that four underground storage tank's (USTs) were removed from the site on July 15, 1987. One 10,000-gallon diesel UST (Tank #1) and one 7,000-gallon diesel UST (Tank #2) were located near the tuning shop; onej�.10,00,0-gallon unleaded gasoline tank (Tank #3) and on 10,000-gallon diesel tank (Tank #4,) were located approximately 120 feet east of the shop (Figure 2). One soil sample was collected below each UST. The samples were collected at depths IL between 18 and 21 feet. Petroleum hydrocarbons were det'ected'in samples collected below tanks #1, #2 and #3 at the time of removal. Therefore, the San Joaquin County Public Health Services-Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) required further investigation 11 to determine the full extent of the soil and/or groundwater problem.
