methods. The technique(s) employed will depend upon conditions encountered, and with
the approval of the San Joaquin Co. EHD staff.
4. Depending upon the results of the visual inspection, the well will either be returned to
service or left idle.
Project 2 - Removal of contaminated soil and restoration of excavation.
1. Remove approximately 150 cubic yards of contaminated soil from excavation. It will
be either:
(a) stored temporarily on adjacent property owned by Tuleburg Warehouse, placed on
Plastic and covered pending a decission on final disposition. If the necessary APCD
ermints can be obtained, it may be remediated on site until levels of contaminants reach
`acceMable levels. or -
(b) transport removed soil directly to an approved landfill for disposal.
The method employed will depend upon the ability to obtain the necessary permits, cost
considerations, and Cleanup Fund staff approval.
2.: Bring in clean fill - estimate 400 cubic yards - fill excavation and compactas required
by San Joaquin County. Repave excavation with asphalt and restore to original condition.
Project 3-Soil& Groundwater Investigation.
1. Mobilize properly licensed auger rig equipped with sufficient clean flights to go to 120'
without the necessity of decontaminating flights. The soil boring locations "A" & "B" are
shown on PLATE V.
2.. Equipment to include continuous coring capability to allow visual inspection, screening
and sampling at desired intervals.
3. Coring to begin at native soil depth, which is estimated to be at about 15' bgl at soil
U locations A & B. Coring will continue to groundwater or deeper as directed by the
San Joaquin Co. EHD. Groundwater is estimated to be at 75 to 80 feet below grade at
this location. Soil samples to be preserved at each major change in lithology and/or
evidence of contamination(either visual or PID.)
4.. Preserved samples to be transported under chain of custody to a State Certified
analytical laboratory and analyzed for BTEX, TPHg, and oxygenates using San Joaquin
Col EHD.methodology and detection limits. ,
4
