Exchange the GAC currently in the carbon vessels with virgin, coconut-based GAC prior to
restarting the treatment system;
2. Pressure wash removable trays in the air stripper to remove scale in order to increase air stripper
efficiency prior to restarting treatment system;
3. Request modification of WDRs, if necessary, to incorporate pre-treatment of influent water with a
phosphate sequestrant to inhibit scaling. Ground Zero has been working with the Regional Board
since April in an effort to resolve this issue;
4. Request modification of WDRs, if necessary, to discharge treated water over a larger area to
eliminate ponding in the discharge area.
Please contact John Lane at(209) 838-9888 if you have any questions regarding this submittal.
Respectfully,
Ground Zero Analysis,Inc.
John P.Lane
CA Registered Geologist No. 6795
cc: Mr:Jeffrey Wong, San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
Mr. Ray Baglietto/Mr.Frank Rauzi
Mr.Lee Roy Pierce,Jr.
Mr. David Irey, San Joaquin County Lead Deputy District Attorney
I
i
