Interim Groundwater Treatment System <br /> Operation, Maintenance, and Monitoring Manual <br /> 3.0 MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE <br /> Daily <br /> 1. Visually inspect carbon units and exposed piping for evidence of leakage. <br /> 2. Visually inspect discharge area for excessive standing water. <br /> Weekly <br /> 1. Visually inspect carbon units, exposed piping, and secondary containment piping for <br /> evidence of leakage. <br /> 2. Check particulate filter and replace if necessary.. <br /> 3. Monitor and record flow rate and flow totalizer (daily during the first two weeks of <br /> operation). <br /> 4. Monitor and record depth to groundwater in extraction wells and site wells within 100 <br /> feet of the extraction well (daily during the first two weeks of operation). <br /> As-needed <br /> 1. Contractor to change out carbon when indicated by laboratory analyses. Upon <br /> breakthrough of the primary carbon vessel, the manifold will be adjusted to make the <br /> secondary unit the primary unit and the primary unit (having just experienced <br /> breakthrough) will be configured as the secondary unit and a carbon change-out will be <br /> immediately scheduled. Carbon usage has been estimated at between 37 and 63 pounds <br /> per day. At this rate the primary carbon vessel would require change out every 31-54 <br /> days. <br /> 2. The GRUNDFOS MS 3 submersible pump motor is normally maintenance free. In case <br /> of malfunction, the pumps can be serviced at a GRUNDFOS service center. <br /> 3.
