Page 2 <br /> Based on the findings and conclusions of the investigation, a plan for the <br /> remediation of soil was prepared by Dames & Moore The plan, dated September 15, <br /> 1989, was approved by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division <br /> Site activities, consisting of excavating hydrocarbon-contarrunated sods <br /> associated with the soil remediation process, commenced on January 22, 1990 This <br /> activity continued through March 19, 1990 Those activities were reported in Dames & <br /> Moore's August 7, 1990 report The aeration of contaminated soils commenced on <br /> March 20, 1990 The results of those activities are reported within this text <br /> 3 0 PURPOSE AND SCOPE <br />• The Purpose and Scope of our investigation was outlined in Dames & Moore's <br /> Proposed Remedial Action Plan of September 15, 1989, addressed to Chevron U S A The <br /> plan was modified in an addendum to the plan dated January 8, 1990 The purpose of <br /> the remedial action was to reduce the potential for further migration of contamination <br /> found in site soils <br /> f i - <br /> This portion h o the remedial action plan was to aerate hydrocarbon contaminated <br /> soils to a "non-detected" level and replace those materials as compacted engineered <br /> fill within the excavation at the subject site <br />. 16000-250-044 <br /> D-I.MES s vIOORE # <br />
