The San Joaquin County Health Department <br /> was satisfied with the condition and final grade of the site. <br /> 1_y 5.3 Backfill and Compaction <br /> r <br /> Soil aerated during the remediation process was replaced in the pit as compacted <br /> iA fill beginning on October 19, 1990.Fills were placed using a vibratory sheepsfoot <br /> roller. The bottom photograph on Plate 2 shows the compaction effort in progress. <br /> { Compaction testing of the fill was performed by Twining Laboratories of Modesto, <br /> California. Specifications for compaction called for a minimum of 90%relative <br /> compaction based on the ASTM D-1557-78 test method for moisture content/density <br /> i relationship.
