LI
CHRONOLOGY
1.9501 HIGHWAY 99, ACA14PO
12/20/91 3 UST' s removed (2 - 10 , 000 gal diesel, 1 550 gallon
gasoline) . Rain water was in the excavation so soil
samples were not collected. A sample of the rain water
was collected and the stockpiled soil was sampled.
03/03/92 PHS/EHD discovered the excavation had been filled with
water and "superbugs" . The responsible party was
issued a notice to remove the water and notify PHS/EHD
prior to any further corrective action.
07/06/92 4 soil borings were drilled, one was drilled in the
center of the tank excavation. The vertical extent of
the contamination appeared to be to 25' -301 . The
contamination evidenced was diesel, low levels TPH-g,
BTEX was non-detect .
9/10/93 1800 cubic yards of soil were removed. North portion
was excavated to 21' but most of the area was excavated
to 15 ' -161 . Seven soil samples were collected.
10/21/93 350 cubic yards of soil was removed from the northwest
and southern portions of the 9/10/93 excavation where
samDle results indicated there was residual
contamination.
11/18/93 PNS/EHD informed the responsible party that the area
directly beneath the former tanks had not been
excavated to below 24 ' where the soil boring sample
results indicated contamination existed and that
further excavation was required. Also the east
sidewall had not been sampled.
11/23/93 A soil sample was collected from the bottom of the
excavation directly below where the UST' s were located
at 16' and a east sidewall sample at 11' . These
samples confirmed contamination existed that required
remediation.
02/11/94 An additional 850 cubic yards was excavated in the area
directly beneath the former tanks with a final depth
below grade of 241 . Three soil samples were collected
and the results indicated remaining soil contamination.
11/03/94 Soil samples were collected from the bottom of the
excavation at depths of 25 . 5' -27 .5' . The north and
south samples were non-detect . The western sample
evidenced contamination.
11/29/94 Another 1.00 cubic yards was excavated from the western
portion of the UST area. Five soil samples were
