collected. The bottom. sample was collected from 36 . 5 ' .
{' The sidewall samples were collected from 28' -29' . The
west wall sample at 28 ' still evidenced contamination.
The other sample results were non-detect .
04/25/95 A 'final excavation of 140 cubic yards from the western
portion of the UST area occurred. Four soil samples
we're collected from the sidewalls . Three of those
samples still evidenced diesel contamination. it was
discussed that further excavation was not feasible and
that soil samples should be collected from soil borings
to define the lateral extent of the contamination. The
responsible party- began filling the excavation with
clean soil generated at the site by construction of a
storm drainage pond.
05/05/95 There was not sufficient clean soil on site to fill the
excavation so plastic was placed about 4' below grade
on top of the clean soil and the top 4 feet of the
excavation was filled with contaminated soil.
05/08/96 About 1500 cubic yards of contaminated soil spread in
the north portion of the property was sampled, with 15
k samples collected. only one sample had higher than 100
ppm diesel and it had 230 ppm diesel . Five samples
were collected from the backfilled soil within the
first four feet -of the area of the former UST location.
These samples ranged from 130 ppm to 530 ppm diesel .
05/14/96 5 soil borings were drilled to delineate the lateral
extent of the soil contamination. There was no odor or
discoloration to any of the soil generated during the
drilling of the soil borings . Eight soil samples were
{
analyzed and the results were non-detect .
12/96 PHS/EHD review of Closure Report . PHS/EHD concurs with
closure request .
r
a
r
