File No. SP-037
March 13, 1992
Site Location and Description
The proposed church complex is located south of Clark Drive between Highway 99 and Mariposa
Road, in Stockton, California.
To assist us in preparation of this proposal, we were provided with a reproduced portion of a
Site Plan prepared by Wong Engineers, Inc., dated May, 1991.
Proposed Develop
As we understand from Mr. Tua, the site is planned to be graded by minor cuts and fills. A
church building, an office building, two classroom buildings, a residence building, a storm
retention pond, septic tanks, leach fields, parking areas and other appurtenant improvements
are planned. We assume that the buildings are proposed to be one or two-story, of wood-frame
construction, with concrete slabs-on-ground.
Scope of Services
In general, the proposed services include exploration and sampling of the bearing soils for the
proposed church complex, laboratory testing of selected representative samples, and
engineering analyses to determine the appropriate foundation design criteria.
The purpose of our study is to provide a design-level Geotechnical Engineering Report for the
proposed new construction. Our report will present conclusions and recommendations
regarding:
• General subsurface soil conditions;
• Soil suitability study for an effluent disposal system;
• Conditions of areas to receive fill;
• Characteristics of old fill on the site, if any;
• Presence and effect of expansive soils;
• Grading and earthwork;
• Types and depths of foundations;
• Allowable soil bearing pressures;
• Predicted settlements; and
• Groundwater conditions within the depths of
our subsurface investigation.
Our scope of services includes preliminary engineering, field exploration, laboratory testing,
and report preparation. Not included in this scope of services are: seismicity of the site,
evaluation of hazardous or toxic materials on the site, or cost of required permits.
2
