This requirement is based, on OSHA regulations, which <br /> —� recognize the employer-to-employee responsibility for health and safety. A copy of their written <br /> program must be submitted for review to BC, if requested. In an effort to assist the subcontractors, <br /> and to comply with hazard communication requirements, Broom and Caldwell.will provide a copy <br /> of the site safety and health plan for this project to each subcontractor for implementation by the <br /> subcontractor's employees. <br /> HAZARD ANALYSIS <br /> The potential hazards to personnel working at the subject site have been identified as <br /> chemical contamination,physical hazards of working around drilling equipment, heat stress, or cold <br /> i stress. Each potential hazard relative.to the potential for exposure is described below. <br /> Chemical Hazards <br /> { Health hazards associated with potential chemical exposures at this site . include <br /> flammability and toxicity. Toxicity may occur following skin absorption and/or inhalation of <br /> chemical vapors that could potentially -be released from soil and/or groundwater, inhalation of <br /> airborne dust, and direct.contact with soil and/or groundwater .that could potentially contain <br /> hazardous materials. The principal substances of concern are petroleum hydrocarbons. <br /> The principal petroleum hydrocarbon constituents of concern are benzene, toluene, ethylberizene <br /> and xylene isomers (BTEX compounds)..
