4 <br /> T & T TRUCKING <br /> WKA No 2923 04 <br /> July 26, 1995 <br /> Page 2 <br /> estimate is based on the dimensions of the excavation 23 feet x 24 feet x 16 feet deep, <br /> and the southern trench measuring 2 feet x 8 feet x 16 feet deep The excavated soil was <br /> segregated into clean and dirty stockpiles (Plate 2) based on the upper 8 feet of soils <br /> appearing clean Typical soils encountered within the excavation were brown sandy <br /> silts/silty sands r <br /> • A total of seven composite stockpile soil samples were collected by excavating one <br /> to three feet below the stockpile surface and driving two-inch diameter, six-inch <br /> long brass tubes into the soil The tubes were sealed with polytetrafluoroethylene <br /> (PTFE)-coated sheets, plastic end caps and duct tape to reduce volatile <br /> hydrocarbon loss Four samples were collected from every 50 cubic yards of <br /> stockpiled soil and composited into one sample in the laboratory All samples <br /> were placed in an ice chest containing ice, and submitted under chain-of-custody <br /> to a California-certified laboratory Samples were analyzed for TPH as gasolene <br /> and for BTF_X <br /> • e Tank reconciliation records indicate that on February 21, 1995, 970 gallons of <br /> fuel were lost from the tank The leak occurred over a weekend Upon discovery <br /> of the leak, the remaining fuel in the tank was immediately pumped into <br /> aboveground holding tanks for proper disposal <br /> As requested in your letter, a workplan is being prepared for future site characterization to the <br /> south of the main excavation We anticipate completion of the workplan by August 11 , 1995 <br /> Proposed future work at this site will be submitted to San Joaquin County Environmental Health <br /> Division for approval prior to initiating work Please contact myself at 916-372-1434 if there are <br /> any other questions pertaining to work previously completed <br /> Wallace ■ Kuhl & Associates, Inc <br /> Richard Premzic <br /> Registered Geologist #5586 <br /> RP sdm cb <br /> Attachments <br /> R12923 en iti <br /> WALLACE•KUFlL <br /> Recycled paper &ASSOCIATES INC <br />
