Box 388
Stockton, California95201-0388
Dear Eric Trevena:
In response to your Hazardous Waste Inspection Report dated 12/6/95, 1 have written
our resolve for each of the violations on the report. If you have any questions, please feel free to
call me at (209) 931-8072-
Item
3 -8072.Item 3: 25244.210 (HSC) Failed to retain current (SB14) review and plan.
We have completed an initial checklist for the SB14 plan. I have enclosed a copy
of this. One important note is that we will no longer be processing fresh tomatoes
at Plant 4 beginning this year. We will continue to operate cherries and reman
operations. This will greatly reduce the amount of hazardous materials generated
at our plant. I am confident that this will place us under the 12,000 kilogram
level acre at plant 4. We will continue to work on reducing and minimizing
haza dous waste generation at the plant.
Item 15: 66265.320 (CCR) Spill control equipment, and/or decontamination equipment
not provided.
Eye wash stations have been installed in the three designated areas of the Lab,
forklift shop and the maintenance shop.
Item 20: 662 2.34 Failed to properly label containers of hazardous waste.
The glass bottle containing the waste material in the main Q.C. has been emptied
into the labeled drum outside the lab and the bottle has been labeled with a
haza dous material label.
