There is nothing new, the
training will involve gMal handling procedures which are suppose to be followed at present.
Any specific handlingf hazardous material under emergency conditions involving acutely
hazardous materials, donne, ammonia, S02 would require specific training and the involvement
of outside regulatory agencies.
The present training done at the plant for these instances are as follows:
Personnel ob Title 40 hour 1 st responder Incident
Command
Bob Hancock rod. There is also a 8 hour refresher required each year for
the people who have completed the 40 hour training. This training is not
necess in handling"hazardous materials" which do not pose a threat and are a
P of everyday work handling to a degree, example: used oil is classified as
hazardus waste but is handled readily by mechanics. However, training is
require on how we handle the used oil, oil filters, used coolant and sorbent pads,
where a dispose of them, and how to identify the proper containers being used
for disl osal.
