D. WHERE TO DISPOSE OF THE WASTE MATERIALS <br /> 1. All waste oils, grease, solvents, used paint thinner, contaminated sorbent pads and <br /> oil filters are to be disposed of in the containers near the maintenance shop, outside <br /> the empty can room east door and in the forklift shop. <br /> 2. The ozl sludge and antifreeze will be in containers at the forklift shop. <br /> 3. The water contaminated oils in the birms will be sumped directly by an approved <br /> hazardous waste hauler, i.e. Evergreen Environmental. <br /> 4. The Q. lab waste collection drums are just outside the door of the main Q.C. lab. <br /> -Liquids should be poured carefully into the hazardous waste drums and sorbent pads <br /> should be present to catch spillage. Use funnells where appropriate. <br /> -Solids should a carefully scraped into the hazardous waste collection drums and again <br /> care should be en to minimize spillage. <br /> -Eye protectio gloves and dusk masks should be worn during transfer of the materials. <br /> E. HOW TO ID7rnums <br /> HAZARDOUS WASTE DRMS AND THEIR CONTENTS. <br /> 1. The duld be in a designated area mentioned above. <br /> 2. Theser containers should have a"hazardous material label" attached. This <br /> label entify the plant and its EPA number and waste code. There should a <br /> descrip 'on on the label of the type of waste in it and the danger it may pose, i.e. <br /> flammable. <br /> 3. If the container is not labeled call for a supervisor or a 40 hour.specialist to help <br /> with the proper identification of the container. They are John Johnson, Ozzie <br /> Cruz, Mercy Ramirez, Larry Konvalen and Jeff Wong. <br /> 4. Do not waste materials from what is on the labels. This could be very <br /> danger us depending on the reactions which they may cause. ' <br /> 5. All hazardous waste containers are to be covered and all caps, lids secured when <br /> done emptying the contents into them. <br />
