WHERE AND HOW WASTE ARE GENERATED <br /> a. Items 1, 2, and 3 are from equipment maintenance <br /> b. 4 is from water getting into the berms in back of the supply building through rain <br /> or water flooding into that area <br /> C. 5 and are from forklift maintenance at the forklift shop. <br /> d. 68 is are from our parts stations. <br /> e. 8 is fro painting activities. <br /> f. Item 1 is from tests done in the Q.C. lab. <br /> g. Item 1 is generated when clean up is done on oil spills or at work benches. <br /> C. HANDLING <br /> 1. All haz irdous wastes sould be collected in a labeled container that particular <br /> waste. (These containers will then be used to transport the hazardous waste <br /> material to the proper storage containers. Example: Used oil or grease should be <br /> collected in a bucket labeled used oil. This bucket should then.be emptied into the <br /> proper waste drum for used oil. <br /> 2. Care should be taken when placing the hazardous material into the transport <br /> container that all efforts are made to prevent spillage, sorbent or cleaning cloths <br /> are available to catch spillage or residual on the outside of the containers. These <br /> containers should not be overfilled to prevent spillage as well during transport or if <br /> a lid or(cap is present to make sure it is secure. Make sure adequate ventillation is <br /> present during handling. <br /> 3. Proper safety equipment should be used during this time: rubber gloves, safety <br /> glasses and a rain jacket if necessary. <br /> 4. Don't when moving or carrying the container to the disposal location. <br />
